National Academy of Indian Railways, originally started as a Transportation School in the year 1925, is the apex Centralized Training Institute of Indian Railways. The Academy has been operating from the Pratap Vilas Palace situated in Vadodara city, the cultural capital of Gujarat state (India), since 31-Jan-1952. The Academy is headed by Director General.The Academy explicitly ensures training of Probationary Officers as well as posted Railway Officers at different levels under various programmes. Besides, the executives of Public Sector Undertakings, Private Companies and Foreign Nationals are also imparted training as per the requirement.The Academy delivers training in Classroom, Online and Blended modes, which is coordinated by a team of well qualified and experienced members, who are Indian Railways' officers posted under various functional faculties. Moreover, the Academy has a repository of Visiting Lecturers who are Industry experienced persons, renowned Academicians and senior functionaries of Indian Railways.The Academy has been awarded with the prestigious 'Golden Peacock National Training Award' for the year 2019 and earlier in the year 1998 in recognition to excellence in training practices as a whole. The lush-green campus of the Academy is IGBC Certified as well as ISO 9001:2015, ISO 14001:2015 and OHSAS 18001:2007 certified.
